The Liturgical Commission is an arm within the Pastoral Department whose major objective is to oversee and spearhead the implementation of proposals in liturgical matters.
The major activity of the Diocesan Liturgical Commission (under the Diocesan Liturgical Coordinator) is to see to it that programmes decided upon in the diocese are implemented with the collaboration and mutual assistance of all involved (music, art, different ministers, etc).
It is also the task of the Liturgical Commission to ensure ongoing and creative liturgical reflection and research while promoting programmes and formation seminars that may contribute to the advancement of liturgical life in the diocese.
This Commission is responsible for divine worship in the Diocese (SC7). The objectives include spearheading, coordinating and implementing liturgical activities. Additionally, the Commission facilitates translation of liturgical materials and ensures on-going and creative liturgical reflection and research while promoting programmes and formation seminars that may contribute to the advancement of liturgical life in the Diocese. The commission is headed by the Diocesan Liturgical Coordinator. Currently, the Liturgical Coordinator is Rev. Fr. Stephen Kapalu.
